Position description

Sullivan Marketing & Communications is hiring a Software Engineer to support its remote team. The position implements scoped improvements, investigates defects, and supports routine software releases.

Software Engineer | Remote within the United States | Full-time | Associate-level

You will use version control, debugging tools, and automated tests to complete well-scoped development work.

Responsibilities

  • Document important implementation decisions and technical limitations.
  • Assist with database queries or data models when relevant to a feature.
  • Follow established practices for handling credentials and sensitive data.
  • Use Git to manage and review changes to the codebase.
  • Work with APIs and handle ordinary data validation or error cases.
  • Participate in code reviews and apply actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate on technical requirements and clarify missing acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

  • Working ability in at least one programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or C#.
  • Ability to write and interpret simple automated tests.
  • Experience through coursework, internships, or personal projects is acceptable.
  • Understanding of functions, data structures, and common debugging techniques.
  • Comfort reading API documentation and existing code.

Annual base salary: $81,750–$84,250 USD.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and able to perform the role remotely from an approved U.S. location.
